Is breakdown cover worth adding?
For a working van, yes. Usually within the first claim.
If your van is your livelihood, a single breakdown that strands you for the day costs more than a year of breakdown cover. Most trade customers add it.
What you usually get
- Roadside. A patrol comes to fix the van where it broke down.
- Recovery. If it can't be fixed roadside, it gets towed to a garage.
- Home start. Won't start in the morning? The patrol comes to your house.
- Onward travel. Sometimes included, sometimes a separate add-on. Pays for a hire car, a hotel or onward travel if the van can't be fixed the same day.
